This amazing National Park is home to the highest limestone massif in Europe. The alpine orogeny erected Cyclopean mountain reliefs, sculpted by glaciers and rivers which carved out the deep valleys and canyons of Ordesa, Añisclo, Pineta and Escuaín, giving shape to a exceptional landscape, peppered with cavities, pits, upwellings, streams and waterfalls.
Half of the plant species in the Pyrenees are contained in this area, including magnificent beech and fir tree forests and a wide variety of wildlife, including chamois, marmots, stoats, bearded vultures, vultures, wallcreepers, choughs, desmans and newts.
Every area in the Pyrenees is impressive, but Ordesa y Monte Perdido is particularly spectacular.
