Moncayo Natural Park holds the highest mountain in the province of Zaragoza and the Sistema Ibérico (Iberian System). A huge damp island emerging from the surrounding plains of the river Ebro.

Going up it from its foothills, we can see a succession of plant communities similar to the kind you would see crossing Europe northwards, from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia. This is a landscape which fascinated many people including the poet Bécquer, who dedicated some of his verses and legends to these lands.

At the foot of Moncayo we will have the chance to visit interesting sites such as monumental Tarazona, the Monasterio de Veruela, Los Fayos or the castle of Trasmoz.
